September 18 – September 20, 2015

Our wonderful Anniversary Planning group planned a full schedule of activities for our celebration the weekend of September 18th at the Church and in the community.  We invite you to read about the various events throughout the weekend below and to take a look at the wonderful photos from the weekend in the slideshow below.

Friday, September 18th

Piano & Organ 1 Piano & Organ 2Duo Organ Concert: Kicking off our celebratory weekend, our own Bruce Adami and Brian Jones gave a wonderful Piano & Organ Extravaganza concert.   The two performed works for organ four hands and four feet, works for piano and organ, and works for solo organ.  The church’s newly renovated 1938 Steinway piano was featured prominently in the concert. Bruce Adami has been the organist at Christ Church since 2007.  Brian Jones is Emeritus Director of Music at Trinity Church, Copley Square, Boston where he led an active music program for twenty years.

Saturday, September 19th

Outreach Activities: The parish indicated strong interest in providing outreach during our celebration weekend.  Throughout the morning and early afternoon, the parish worked at Wonderland Thrift Store sorting and organizing items, collected $1082 and 250+ items for St. Vincent de Paul, made a quilt top for My Brother’s Keeper Quilt Project & made cards and other items for Meals on Wheels.

Children’s Program:
Sammie Haynes and Rick Marinchev, “The Funman” joined our children for a fun afternoon of song, crafts and games face painting and balloons for all the kids

All Parish BBQ:
Following a day full of outreach activities and children’s events, the parish came together under the big tent for a Southern style BBQ with ribs, chicken & yummy treats!

Seacoast Wind Ensemble:
To end our celebratory day, the Seacoast Wind Ensemble joined us for a rousing concert!

Sunday, September 20th

Wall Panel 2 Wall PanelThe Bishop of New Hampshire, current and former clergy of Christ Church, a six-piece brass ensemble, and all of our parishioners came together in one service to celebrate the Eucharist and to thank God for our Church and each other.  We also dedicated the final 2 wall panels donated in memory of Bronia Dibble and Margery Heffron.

Immediately following the 9:30am service, we took an All-Parish Picture in the church and then gathered together under the big tent for a Potluck-Style Coffee Hour.
