Connecting with God and one another

Connecting with one another is a central aspect of our vision at Christ Church and we strive to offer events and activities which will make these connections a possibility. Below you will find a description of many of the activities – keep an eye out on the Home Page for schedule updates.

Summer Events

Vacation Bible School, June 26-June 30 2017
Pre-K – 5th grade students are invited as participants, while middle and high school students are invited to participate in a leadership capacity. Stay tune for more information!

Drive in Movie-Theatre, TBA
Church and community members are invited to join us in the parking lot of Christ Church for our traditional Annual Drive-in Movies.Campfire

Annual Fisher Cats Outing , TBA
The outing takes place in Manchester on chosen Sunday.  The choir sings the National Anthem and the Rev. David Holroyd will throw out a ceremonial first pitch.  This is the typical timetable:

  • 10:30: Tailgate party in Christ Church Courtyard (includes a choir rehearsal for the Anthem)
  • 11:45 – 12noon:  Buses depart for Manchester.  People may drive on their own if they prefer.
  • 1:30:  PLAY BALL!   Buses leave for Exeter after the kids get a chance to run the bases!

The cost per person is generally about $20.00 for the party food, the bus trip, and a premium box seat behind third base for the game.  Family rates are negotiable. David Holroyd is the organizer.

Back Yard Tent Camp – TBA
Every year, parishioners host an overnight tent camp for parish families and guests.  It generally takes place in the backyard of the church, behind Harris House from 5:00 PM on Saturday evening until mid-morning on the following Sunday.  The event includes a Potluck BBQ, campfire with a sing-a-long, fellowship with other families, an outdoor movie, games, and an outdoor service on Sunday morning.

                            

Fall Events

Kickoff Sunday Parish Picnic- First Sunday after Labor Day

St Francis Day – Blessing of the Animals
In the spirit of the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi (October 4 each year) we bless our beloved pets on the front lawn of the church at noon on Sunday, October 2. Come back after services with your dogs, cats, snakes, ferrets, fish, rabbits and hamsters.

Fall Parish Clean up – TBA
Every spring and fall, the parish comes together to give the church grounds, parish hall, and the church itself a good cleaning!  Lunch is always provided and it is a great day of fellowship and fun


Winter/Spring Events

Shrove Tuesday Pancake Breakfast
Every year, the youth and some helpers get together to host a Pancake Supper for the church.  All members of the parish are invited to come for a night of pancakes, sausage & bacon.  We also ‘bury the alleluias’ and burn the palms from the previous year’s Palm Sunday service.

Spring Clean up – TBA
Every spring and fall, the parish comes together to give the church grounds, parish hall, and the church itself a good cleaning!  Lunch is always provided and it is a great day of fellowship and fun!

Year End Parish Picnic – TBA
At the end of every year, all members of the parish are invited to come together in a final celebration!  Hot dogs and hamburgers are provided, all you have to do is bring yourself and a side dish!
