Christ Church is currently closed for in-person worship, gatherings, and meetings due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We will post updates as we continue to monitor this crisis. We are reaching out by phone to many of our households staying connected as we can.
The weekly Enews is the best way to receive updates; please sign up by emailing: email@example.com if you do not currently receive these emails.
Let us continue to pray for all of humanity. May God help us and Christ draw close to us.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE REGARDING CHURCH FACILITIES
March 16, 2020
In response to the growing pandemic that is now upon us and the potential impact upon community-wide health, Christ Church Staff and Wardens have decided to close our church facilities. Worship will take place via online networks and our staff is working remotely.
All gatherings, meetings, lessons, and rehearsals will not take place at 43 Pine Street until otherwise announced. We will, of course, monitor events and adapt this directive as necessary.
We are saddened by the impact that the spreading Covid-19 virus is having locally and globally. We are especially torn by those among us most isolated and anxious. May God watch over the world God created and fills with life and blessings. We are if we ever needed to be reminded once more, members of one, human family.

A LETTER FROM OUR RECTOR MARK PENDLETON
March 15, 2020
To the Christ Church Community:
Events are moving quickly, locally and globally, in response to the spread of COVID-19 and life as we know it is being altered.
Some of you may know that I returned on March 11 from Israel, having cut short my long-planned study pilgrimage to the Holy Land. While I was in Israel, the Israeli government began to make plans to restrict all travel in and out of the country, so I thought it prudent to make my way home.
My head and heart are no longer in sabbatical mode, thus I have rejoined our ministry team effective today.
I have just completed a video conference with our staff and wardens to talk through ways we can be present for and connected to our parish community during this trying time.
As you may have heard, there will be NO in-person worship services for the next 2 Sundays and perhaps beyond. Also, our buildings will be closed to all church and outside groups until further notice. Please watch for emails in the coming days and weeks about plans for online worship etc.
I continue to believe that we are all being watched over and held by God, and that prayer and action, especially for the most vulnerable, is our highest calling as followers of Jesus Christ.
Thank you to Alanna, our staff and wardens for their leadership and care.
If you would like to reach me directly, please call me on my mobile phone number (860) 490-8544 (Yes, I kept by Connecticut number).
May God give us grace and strength to live through these uncertain days with compassion, remembering to reach out, stay connected and support one another.
The Rev. Mark Pendleton
