Connect
with God and one another

Picnic 1Christ Church promotes hospitality and newcomer assimilation through its Welcoming & Hospitality Team.  The mission of the Welcoming & Hospitality Team is to ensure every person who walks through the doors feels cared about, informed and included. Team members are dedicated to helping attendees to enter the church with a warm reception, and provide any assistance necessary for them to comfortably participate in the service. They especially seek to identify first-time visitors, provide them with a warm welcome and information about the church, and introduce them to the clergy and other church members. Each week our Team includes a member of the Vestry who joins in greeting people as they arrive.

There is nothing more heartfelt than the smiling faces of our hospitality greeters on Sunday mornings.  Whether the greeter is 10 or 80, a warm smile, a welcome and a handshake are our pleasure to provide.  If you are new to our parish, we can answer any questions you may have and we will introduce you to other church members who might be of interest to you.  We always have a coffee hour after our services where you can learn about our programs, meet parishioners and begin to see if Christ Church is going to be your new faith home.

Our greeters also act as ushers during the offertory and direct parishioners during Communion.  If you have a mobility concern, please let an usher know so that you can receive the appropriate assistance.

Interested in joining the Welcoming Team?
The Welcoming Team supports Christ Church through providing ushers and greeters at the 8:00 and 10:30 (9:30 in the summer) services .  Greeters warmly welcome “regulars” and guests. Ushers hand out bulletins and help everyone get comfortably seated. Ushers and greeters also support guests by orienting them to our facilities, addressing any questions and helping them to connect with our ministers, leadership and the members of our parish. Serving on the Welcoming Team is a great way to meet the members of our parish and contribute to parish life.  You may serve as an individual, with a partner or as a family.  As a diverse parish, we love having people of all ages.  If you are interested in serving on the Welcoming Team for the 8:00 service please contact Pat Izzo (pa93055@gmail.com). For the  10:30 service please contact Judy Mikami (email: jmikami@myfairpoint.net; cell: 603-493-4609).  We would love to have you!

Picnic 3Coffee Hour Hospitality

Looking for Coffee Hour organizers and supporters: Tired of those proverbial donut holes?  Want to mix it up in the hospitality department during coffee hour Sunday morning?  Please contact Mark Pendleton or Sarah Watts if you would like to head and/or form a team to get a bit more creative and abundant in our weekly offering.  Duties would include organizing a signup sheet and encouraging folks sign up.

Fellowship

Fellowship is an important element of the life at Christ Church.Picnic 4

Members of the Christ Church community enjoy gathering at various times for fun and fellowship. Whether it’s as simple as Coffee Hour following each liturgy, the annual Parish Picnics in May & September, Greening of the Church at Christmas, dinners in homes, or an outing to see the New Hampshire Fisher Cats baseball team, there are numerous opportunities to meet other members of the church and share in some fun. Please visit our Annual Events webpage to learn more about our fellowship events.

Another great way Christ Church provides an opportunity for connection and fellowship is by coordinating Foyer Groups. Foyer groups are groups of 6 to 8 parishioners – singles or couples – who meet once a month for dinner and fellowship.  Members rotate once a month for four months, hosting a dinner and providing the main course while the other members bring appetizers, sides and dessert. For more information or to sign up please contact Sarah Watts at (603) 772-3332, ext 13 or swatts@christchurchexeter.org.

Fellowship is especially important to us because of our size, geographic and generational diversity, and two-service (8 and 10:30) nature of our congregation.
