Holy Communion at Christ Church
Both the bread and wine are offered at Communion. You may drink from the cup, or place your hand on the base as a sign of devotion. Intinction (dipping the bread/wafer) is also permitted. Please know that Communion in one kind (bread/wafer only) is sufficient to experience the Real Presence of our Risen Lord.
Lent 2026
Bible Study with Lent for Everyone
Join us on Tuesdays at 11 AM in the Dodd Room for Bible Study. During Lent, we’ll be using the daily devotional Lent for Everyone. Best-selling and beloved author N. T. Wright encourages readers to think and pray through the stories of Jesus’ life, death and resurrection throughout Lent. This year, we’ll be focusing on the psalms for each Sunday of Lent. You may pick up a copy of the book in the main office to use the book daily, or simply show up to bible study and join in the conversation about the following Sunday’s psalm reading.
Noonday Prayer
Join us on Tuesdays at noon in the Chapel for Noonday Prayer from the Book of Common Prayer. This service is brief, with readings from the psalms and time for intercessions. We will begin immediately following bible study; feel free to join for just the service, or bible study beforehand too.
Morning Prayer Online
A zoom-based group is gathering for Morning Prayer once a week during this season. Please reach out to Dale Pinkham Cavanaugh at 508-783-7798 or dcavanau@bu.edu if you’d like to join in during the Lenten season or would like more information.

Christ Church Exeter Winter Weather Cancellation Policy
January 2026
Delays or Cancellations
Due to the hazards of travel and the safety of parishioners and staff, mid-week events will be cancelled if the local SAU-16 classes are cancelled or delayed because of inclement weather.
We will update any closures on WMUR Channel 9.
We will make every effort to keep our own website (homepage calendar) and social media updated as well.
In severe situations, it may also be necessary for safety reasons to cancel one or both Sunday worship services. Please check WMUR or consult our websites and/or social media for cancellation information. We will send an email out to the parish by 6 a.m. Sunday morning if services are cancelled.
Snow and Ice Removal
Please note that we contract with a private contractor for snow removal. The contractor makes every possible effort to make Christ Church a priority for early Sunday morning snow removal when our parking lot is empty. Based on snowfall amounts, it is not always possible to get snow removed down to the surface pavement. In cases of severe icing, we can call for salt and sand to be applied.
In all cases of winter weather, please use your best judgment about your ability to navigate walkways and parking lots that may be covered with snow and occasional ice. Please use caution. If you are unable to attend Sunday services, please tune into our YouTube channel.
In all things, God gave us the gifts of wisdom, reason, and prudence. Let’s use them wisely and exercise sound judgment when considering going out in severe weather. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
